A/Prof Michelle Peate

A/Prof Michelle Peate is a behavioural scientist and decision-science researcher at the University of Melbourne, based at the Royal Women’s Hospital. She leads the Psychosocial Health and Wellbeing (emPoWeR) Research Unit and is internationally recognised for her work in reproductive health, oncofertility, menopause after cancer, and evidence-based decision support. Her research focuses on improving the quality of treatment decision-making and personalised care across the cancer trajectory, particularly in areas where treatment has long-term reproductive and hormonal consequences. She has led and collaborated on major national and international projects developing and evaluating decision aids, stepped-care interventions, and multidisciplinary models of care. Her work has informed clinical guidelines and policy. A/Prof Peate is President of the Australian Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics & Gynaecology (ASPOG) and is committed to translating evidence into practical, scalable health service solutions that improve women’s quality of life after cancer.
