A/Prof Rachael Dodd

Associate Professor Dodd (MSc, PhD in Psychology) is a behavioural and implementation scientist at the Daffodil Centre. She is a Cancer Institute NSW Career Development Fellow (2026-2029). She has an established international reputation in cancer control, health communication, and implementation science, with a strong focus on translating evidence into effective screening programs and policy. She is a CI on over $5 million in Category 1 grants, including an MRFF Improving Diagnosis project in cancers with low survival. She led an International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer Young Investigator Award, focused on co designing decision support tools for lung cancer screening in Australia, and led a Cancer Australia consultancy to develop baseline key messages, information, and education resources for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program. Her research has included leading a systematic review of education and communication strategies for lung cancer screening, consultations with end-users (consumers and health professionals) about the feasibility and acceptability of lung cancer screening and the information needs for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program. She has also led prior high impact work informing messaging for HPV related cancers and national cervical screening reforms in Australia, Ireland, and Canada. She has published 88 peer reviewed papers.
