Christine Whittall

Brain Tumour Alliance Australia, NSW

Christine Whittall is the Executive Officer of Brain Tumour Alliance Australia (BTAA), the national peak advocacy body representing people living with brain cancer and their families. She has over 15 years’ experience shaping health policy and advocacy in Australia, spanning roles across the public and non-profit sectors. Before joining BTAA, Christine worked with organisations including Cancer Council Australia, NSW Health and the Sax Institute, focusing on evidence-based health system change. Her work has spanned cancer control, medical research policy, and health policy development.

Following her diagnosis and treatment for oligodendroglioma in 2024, Christine became closely involved with the brain cancer community, motivated to improve awareness, investment, coordination, advocacy and equity across the system. In her role at BTAA, she brings her professional and lived experience together to strengthen national collaboration between charities, researchers, health professionals and consumers to advance care, research and support.
