Associate Professor Craig Haifer - MBBS (Hons), FRACP, PhD, is a staff specialist gastroenterologist at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and is a conjoint Associate Professor through the School of Clinical Medicine at UNSW. He completed a PhD through The University of Sydney assessing the role of the gut microbiome and faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in the management of various conditions including ulcerative colitis and led the national guidelines for the use of FMT. In addition to his clinical work, he remains active in the research field where his team is investigating the role of the microbiome in the development of various diseases including immunotherapy associated colitis and using FMT and other therapeutics to modulate the response of cancer immunotherapy and to treat the associate adverse events.
