A/Prof Megan Smith

Associate Professor Megan Smith is a Principal Research Fellow at the Cancer Elimination Collaboration at the University of Sydney. She is a public health researcher with expertise in epidemiology, mathematical modelling and health economics. Her research focuses on informing and evaluating cervical screening and HPV vaccination policies, including simulation modelling, analysis of large-scale registry data, and leadership of safety monitoring activities for the National Cervical Screening Program.
Her work has directly informed cervical cancer prevention policy in Australia and internationally, including the transition to HPV-based screening and expanded access to self-collection. She has also helped shape national policy through her contributions to NCSP guidelines and Australia's strategy for cervical cancer elimination.
